Curity Pharma Launches Its First Products in the Greek Market

The Greek pharmaceutical company enters a new phase of growth with the launch of finished medical cannabis products through its strategic partnership with Galenica

Athens, October 2026

The launch of Curity Pharma’s first finished medical cannabis products in the Greek market, through its strategic partnership with Galenica, marks a significant milestone in the company’s development. It follows years of strategic investment in specialized manufacturing facilities and scientific expertise, representing a major step forward in establishing its commercial operations in Greece and delivering on its broader business strategy.

Central to Curity Pharma’s development is a €20 million investment in a modern, vertically integrated medical cannabis production facility in the Industrial Area of Larissa, Greece. Situated on a 67,000 sq. m. site, the facility comprises a 5,000 sq. m. hybrid greenhouse and a 2,000 sq. m. pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, providing an integrated production infrastructure that supports the company’s long-term commitment to manufacturing and growth in Greece.

With every stage of production, from cultivation to the finished pharmaceutical product, carried out in Greece, Curity Pharma has established a vertically integrated manufacturing model built around scientific expertise, quality and traceability, while meeting the stringent regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. The manufacturing unit operates in accordance with European Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and currently employs 45 highly skilled professionals, including agronomists, pharmacists, chemists, , engineers and quality control technicians. As operations continue to scale up, the workforce is expected to grow significantly, further strengthening the company’s contribution to the local economy and domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The strategic partnership with Galenica, announced in June 2025, is a key element of Curity Pharma’s development in the Greek market. Drawing on its longstanding experience in the pharmaceutical sector, the scientific expertise of its team and its established distribution network, Galenica is responsible for scientific education of healthcare professionals, as well as the commercial distribution of Curity Pharma’s products, in compliance with the applicable regulatory framework.

Curity Pharma’s entry into the Greek market follows the successful launch of its export activity in major European markets and marks the beginning of its next phase of development. The company’s priorities include expanding its product portfolio, further strengthening its scientific capabilities and establishing new strategic partnerships. With a strong manufacturing base in Greece and an international focus, Curity Pharma aims to enhance its position in the European pharmaceutical sector through continued investment in quality, innovation and sustainable growth, guided by its philosophy: “We Cultivate Science for Quality of Life.”

Manos Chatiras, Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Curity Pharma, commented:

“The launch of our first products in the Greek market marks a defining milestone for Curity Pharma. It is the result of a clear strategic decision: to invest in Greece, establish a high-quality domestic medical cannabis manufacturing operation and build a company with strong foundations and international presence. Today, we are taking another important step towards realizing that vision, supported by our strategic partnership with Galenica, which strengthens our presence in the Greek market. We remain firmly committed to science, quality and innovation as we pursue sustainable, long-term growth in Greece and internationally.”

Nikolaos Varelas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Galenica, commented:

“Our partnership with Curity Pharma represents another step in Galenica’s longstanding commitment to improving patients’ access to innovative, high-quality and safe treatment options. With more than 50 years of experience in healthcare, Galenica brings the scientific expertise, commercial capabilities and established distribution network needed to responsibly support this new therapeutic class. Consistently operating in strict compliance with regulatory standards and dedicated to scientific education of healthcare professionals, our aim is to help address specific patient needs. At the same time, this partnership between two Greek companies demonstrates the potential of domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing and innovation, creating value for patients, the medical community, the Greek pharmaceutical industry and the wider economy.”
