We’re heading high into the hills of Southern Humboldt to Canna Country Farms to experience the Ocimene Queen herself: Canna Country #26.
Canna Country is a multigenerational, family-run farm of master growers and breeders known for their proprietary genetics, the most famous being #26.
Canna Country #26 is a hybrid strain bred by Canna Country Farms and descended from Forbidden Fruit and their in-house strain, Cherimoya. It is known for its intense purple color and extremely high concentration of ocimene, earning it the nickname “The Ocimene Queen”. Leafly reviewers note that Canna Country #26 helps them feel energized and creative, and they often praise the strain’s unique flavor profile with both sweet tropical and pungent notes.

Also known as the Ocimene Queen, #26 crosses Forbidden Fruit with their proprietary Cherimoya strain and regularly sweeps competitions. It snagged the top prize in the “Flower” and “Purple Buds” categories at Cannifest in 2023, and the silver medal in the “Sun Grown” category at the 2021 Emerald Cup. Her Majesty even graced the cover of High Times in 2024.
Ocimene makes up a whopping 46% of #26’s terpene profile. According to SC Labs, less than 1% of 250,000 samples they’ve tested contain concentrations this high. Ocimene is also one of the rarest terpenes to be found in cannabis; it’s most commonly found in things like mint and parsley, and though it’s present in strains like Dutch Treat and Amnesia, no strain can compare to the amount of ocimene found in #26. She’s truly one of a kind.
It’s a personal favorite of mine, with a high that’s social, zingy, effervescent, and uplifting, and a profile of passionfruit, black pepper, dark berries, and coconut.
According to SC Labs, less than 1% of 250,000 samples they’ve tested contain concentrations this high.
But the craziest thing about #26 is her color. The flower is so deeply purple it almost reads black thanks to high concentrations of anthocyanins, which are antioxidants found in superfoods like blueberries and Okinawa sweet potatoes.
The pigment is so intense that Canna Country actually isolated it from the flower and painted a whole-ass watercolor with it.
With her wild profile, zingy high, and galaxy-hued nugs, #26 is one of the most magical strains I’ve ever encountered.
