Liz Cho filed a protective order amid her divorce.

The 55-year-old New York City local news anchor for WABC-TV Channel 7 Eyewitness News filed the request in order to avoid testifying amid her ongoing divorce from former CBS News anchor Josh Elliott, 55.

In the paperwork, obtained by Page Six, Liz filed the motion for a protective order on July 17 to prevent a deposition scheduled for her by Josh‘s team on July 23.

“The deposition was noticed without any inquiry as to the availability of [Cho] and her counsel,” the paperwork reads, going on to claim that her legal team notified his that “none of the attorneys on [Cho’s] legal team are available on July 23rd due to previously scheduled conflicts” and “offered to coordinate a mutually convenient alternative date for the deposition and provided options for such alternative date.”

The paperwork also claimed Josh‘s team was “away on vacation.”

It’s not known whether the deposition ended up taking place, or if it was rescheduled.

Liz also objected to Josh‘s legal team requesting documents, including “copies of any written correspondence, emails, cards, text messages, or any written forms of communication between you and any person, other than the Plaintiff, with whom you have or have had a romantic and/or sexual relationship from July 11, 2015 to June 23, 2025.”

The Daily Mail reports that she ultimately agreed to hand those over in a July 24 court hearing, however. She must hand over communications she’s had with journalists about their divorce, as well as providing a reason for transferring $500,000 from the ex-couple’s joint bank account to her teen daughter’s account in October of last year. (She has a daughter from a previous relationship, as does Josh.)

Josh filed for divorce in June of last year after nearly a decade of being married to Liz, resulting in a tumultuous legal battle ever since.

Josh previously was an anchor for ABC’s Good Morning America and a contributor for NBC News before starting his position with CBS. He was reportedly fired in 2017.
