Social media users weren’t happy with Prince Harry‘s brief cameo on MasterChef Australia.
During Meghan Markle‘s appearance on the cooking show, the Duke of Sussex surprised his wife with a FaceTime call. However, the public wasn’t buying the couple’s authenticity.
Harry calls Meghan on ‘MasterChef Australia’
In the episode, a member of production brought Meghan her phone and told her she was getting a call. “Hi, my love! My husband’s here,” the Duchess of Sussex gushed before turning her device around to the contestants.
“What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?” Harry asked.
“Well, we’re actually in the middle of tasting all the dishes. It’s amazing. They’re so talented,” Meghan told him. “We wish you were here!”
“Well, go and enjoy it. I’m very sorry to disturb you. All is well here. I’ll see you later,” he said before hanging up the call.
Social media users label Harry’s cameo ‘staged’
Internet users didn’t buy the sweet interaction between Harry and Meghan. “Absolute cringe,” one X user wrote.

“So staged,” a second person penned.
“Harry just happened to call a random phone number to talk,” a third added.
Meghan got ‘frustrated’ over protocol slip-up on ‘MasterChef Australia’
According to an insider, there was tension between the With Love, Meghan star and judge Poh Ling Yeow after the food specialist referred to Meghan as “royalty.”

“It wasn’t about Meghan personally,” the source told New Idea. “Poh felt she had been unintentionally drawn into a royal protocol issue she never intended to be part of.”
The insider claimed the 44-year-old was “very frustrated” by the mistake.
A source claimed there’s no bad blood between Meghan and Yeow
Despite the reports, a source close to Meghan claimed there was no tension on set.

“Meghan and the MasterChef judges had a great time on set together,” an insider told People.
“They immediately had such a great rapport and had a really fun time working with the contestants and crew as well. Meghan left the set that day with such a positive experience. Any reporting otherwise is false,” the source noted.
