Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson has revealed that designing Taylor Swift‘s wedding gown left him emotional.
Speaking to WWD while unveiling Dior’s Fall 2026 Haute Couture collection in Paris on Monday, three days after Swift married Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 3, Anderson reflected on working with the singer.
“It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends,” he said. “It’s an emotional thing doing someone’s wedding.”
Swift has worn Anderson’s designs on several occasions over the years, including pieces from both his JW Anderson label and his tenure at Loewe.
Both Swift and Kelce wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture for the ceremony. Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed after the wedding that the couple’s looks were created by Dior Haute Couture.
Paine revealed that the designs were created by Anderson “in close collaboration with the bride and groom” and described Swift’s gown as “the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity.”
Anderson, 41, rose to prominence through his own label before spending more than a decade as creative director of Loewe. In 2025, LVMH appointed him to oversee Dior’s women’s, men’s and haute couture collections.

Dior later issued its own statement confirming the wedding commission.
“Christian Dior Haute Couture is delighted to confirm it has created the wedding looks for the marriage of Taylor and Travis,” the fashion house said. “They have been created in Dior’s ateliers at 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris.”
Dior has designed wedding gowns for celebrities for decades, with its haute couture division known for creating one-of-a-kind bridal looks.
Miranda Kerr, Karlie Kloss, Gwen Stefani, Chiara Ferragni and Bianca Jagger are all Dior brides.
Dior’s bridal legacy also extends to royalty, having dressed brides including Princess Caroline of Monaco and Queen Noor of Jordan.

Swift completed her bridal look with custom Christian Louboutin heels and Cartier jewelry. Official photographs of her custom Dior gown have yet to be released.
Swift and Kelce exchanged vows before roughly 1,000 family members and friends at Madison Square Garden on July 3.
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony as the couple skipped a traditional bridal party.
Swift’s brother Austin served as her man of honor and Kelce’s brother Jason Kelce, a former NFL player, stood in as best man.

Following the ceremony, the arena’s exterior screens lit up with the message “JUST&T MARRIED!” as fans gathered outside celebrated the newlyweds.
