Robert Pattinson makes a surprising comparison for his character in The Odyssey.
The 40-year-old actor will be playing Antinous in the upcoming Christopher Nolan epic, who is “a suitor vying for Penelope’s hand in marriage and Odysseus’ throne overseeing the kingdom of Ithaca,” per Deadline.
In a recent interview at the film’s world premiere in London this week, Robert compared Antinous to Taylor Lautner‘s Jacob Black from The Twilight Saga.
“I think they will be rooting for him,” the actor told MTV UK. “I keep comparing it—it’s kind of like Jacob in Twilight.”
“What The Odyssey is about — Penelope just can’t make her mind up between the two guys and I’m just trying to like help her make a decision. It’s like, ‘It’s fine. He’s dead, get over it,’” Robert added.
If you’re unaware, Penelope is played by Anne Hathaway.
In case you missed it, earlier this year, Robert jokingly claimed this about the Twilight movies…
The Odyssey, releasing in theaters on July 17th, marks Robert‘s second movie this year with Zendaya, following The Drama, which is coming to streaming soon!
They will then star in a third movie together, Dune: Part Three, which debuts on December 18th.
