Reese Witherspoon is providing an update on her father, John Draper Witherspoon, after he was taken to a hospital.
The 50-year-old star of The Morning Show took to her Instagram Stories on Friday (August 7) hours after reports surfaced that her dad had fallen and been rushed to the emergency room.

“Earlier today, several outlets reported that my dad was taken to the hospital after a fall. I want to let everyone know that he is fine now. He is being taken care of by wonderful doctors and nurses,” she wrote in a post.
Sources told Page Six that John, 84, was found “face down on the concrete by the pool of his Nashville, Tennessee condo on Friday.
A nearby resident reportedly noticed John from their balcony and alerted the doorman.
“The doorman and building manager rolled him over and they said, ‘Dr. Witherspoon, are you OK?’” the source claimed. “He blinked his eyes, and that’s when he was rushed to the hospital.
John is a retired otolaryngologist who served as a lieutenant colonel in the United States army reserves. As a surgeon, he specialized in issues concerning the ears, nose, and throat.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out. It means the world to our family,” Reese concluded her post.
She reunited with her ex, Ryan Phillippe, earlier this year to celebrate the NYU graduation of their son Deacon.
