Princess Anne reportedly wants peace within the royal family.
According to a source, the Princess Royal has been trying to convince Prince William to let go of his feud with Prince Harry for King Charles III‘s sake.
Anne has been ‘chipping away’ at William and ‘trying to get him to see’ how bad his feud with Harry is for Charles’ legacy
As the Duke of Sussex relocates back to England, Anne is reportedly using the opportunity to get the Prince of Wales to speak to his estranged sibling.
“She’s been chipping away at William and trying to get him to see how bad this is for his father’s legacy,” an insider told Closer.
“It’s fair to say things did go quite cold between her and Harry after his book [Spare] came out, but she’s come around to the King’s way of thinking and she’s ready to move forward and feels strongly it’s time William did too,” the source claimed.
William and Harry ‘should be treasuring every moment’ with Charles
William and Harry’s aunt believes the three are wasting precious time, as His Majesty continues to battle cancer.
“The reputational fallout the entire family is suffering because of this immaturity is simply unacceptable, especially when the King is still ill and he’s repeatedly asked both of his sons to find a way through this,” the insider said.
“In her view, for two grown men to be fighting, sulking and getting bent out of shape over every little thing when they should be treasuring every moment they have left with their father and showing him proper respect is appalling,” they added.
Anne believes Harry is ‘a lot more open to fixing things’
Upon the 41-year-old and Meghan Markle‘s return to the U.K., Anne is reportedly willing to give the couple the benefit of the doubt.
“By all accounts, Harry has been a lot more open to fixing things,” the source alleged.
“In some ways she’s actually happier with his attitude at this point, though she’s in no way letting him off the hook,” the insider noted.
Anne has ‘always been very close to both’ William and Harry
Despite years of tension, the 76-year-old wants her relatives to make amends now that they’re living in the same country.
“Anne has always been very close to both boys. She’s someone they’ve gone to for advice over the years,” the source said.
“Especially during times when they’ve not been getting along with their father and that is still the case to this day,” they added.
