Prince Harry emphasized his role as a father during a candid podcast appearance, which followed his private meeting with King Charles.
Filling out the “usual intake questionnaire” for former England rugby star Joe Marler’s podcast, Harry introduced himself as “Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex,” pronouncing “duke” with an exaggerated accent. Marler and Harry joked about whether “duke” or “inventor” of the Invictus Games was a more fitting title.
When Marler asked about his occupation for the “usual intake questionnaire,” Harry responded: “Full-time dad, uh, British Army veteran, Prince of England.”
The conversation soon shifted from jokes to family when Marler brought up how he was inspired by the resilience of his own children.
Harry agreed with him and said, “Yes, I think you’re absolutely right. And also, kids remind you not to take yourself too seriously as well.”
He added, “The resilience of kids is amazing, and the way that they view life is so incredibly refreshing. If a day is hard, one thing I will do is always squeeze my kids that extra, extra tight.”

The Duke echoed similar sentiments during Scotty’s Summer Festival, where a nine-year-old girl asked what helps him through a difficult day (via BBC).
Harry placed a hand over his heart and shared, “You know what, sometimes it’s just a difficult day. It’s not always possible to laugh, but my dog makes me laugh, my children make me laugh, and if I need to laugh I’ll probably put something really funny on the television.”
The podcast with Marler also brought out the prince’s lighter side. He admitted that Love Island was his favorite “trashy” television show. He poked fun at his own appearance and joked that his “hair is not ginger” but “sunset auburn.”
Harry then pointed towards his receding hairline and laughed, “There’s nothing really happening on top.” “I get a haircut, otherwise I try not to look at what’s happening,” he added.
The episode arrived days after the prince reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. According to People, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet also attended the private family gathering.
This marks the children’s first in-person meeting with their grandparents in four years, but no photographs or other details from the visit were released.
