Morgan Wallen broke his silence after raising concerns among fans by flipping a piano over during the May 29 concert of his Still The Problem tour in Denver, Colo.
In a recent TikTok video, the country singer addressed the incident, saying, “Hey, I just want you guys to know that right now this piano is working. And that’s what they told me last night, too.”
He also gave fans a glimpse at the instrument in the video, which he captioned, “Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano.”
The incident took place when Wallen was performing his track “Sand in My Boots.” According to reports, the singer could not hear the instrument due to technical issues, which ended up leaving him frustrated.
After finishing the song a cappella, Wallen vented his anger by tipping over the instrument, breaking off pieces of its wooden panels.
Wallen’s behavior caused quite some buzz online. When Country Central shared a clip of the incident on its Instagram page, people appeared to have different opinions and reactions.
“To all the people saying his actions are justifiable. Um, looks like he has anger issues where he gets physical… that’s what I see,” one commenter wrote, while another quipped, “He’s still the problem.”
One comment read, “Time for some Anger management,” with another noting, “Does he not realize how many people would love to have a piano?”
Many of his fans weighed in, defending him and justifying his action. One fan said, “Flip it again. HE DONT NEED NO PIANO. He CAN sing,” as another pointed out, “Rockstars break instruments on stage all the time. Smashing guitars and stuff.”
“We all lose our temper under the amount of pressure he’s actually under give him a break it’s his piano,” said one person.
Meanwhile, another commented, “Making this seem like a big deal feels extremely performative by people who were already inclined to dislike him beforehand.”
Wallen previously sparked controversy over his anger issues. In April 2024, he was arrested for tossing a chair off the roof of a downtown Nashville bar.
The same year, Wallen was sentenced to seven days at a DUI education facility and placed on probation for two years. He reportedly had to pay a $350 fine along with additional court costs.
In 2021, the singer was filmed saying the N-word after a rowdy night out with his friends in Nashville.
