Megyn Kelly slammed Meghan Markle‘s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, a day after it received a Daytime Emmy nomination.
The show was nominated in the Outstanding Lifestyle Series category on Tuesday, July 14. On her podcast, Kelly said she was shocked by the news, calling the show one of the “worst” out there.
A ‘hideous’ show
Speaking on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the 55-year-old host said Markle’s show was “hideous.”
“It’s amazing to me. Quite possibly the actual worst product to hit television over the past five years, and now she has managed to get an Emmy [nomination],” Kelly said.
She then played a snippet from With Love, Meghan to remind viewers just how bad she thought the series was. “I forgot just how cringy it was,” Kelly said.
In the clip Kelly played, the Suits alum says, “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.”
Meghan Markle’s ‘elevated’ advice
Kelly said she wasn’t a fan of how Markle made mundane tasks sound fancy. “Elevate. We have to elevate everything,” she griped.
“You can elevate your peanuts and your pretzels by taking them from the store-bought bag and transferring them into a cellophane bag. That’s an elevation,” she mocked.
The journalist also mocked Markle’s cooking segments. “This is one of the most glamorous moments of my life,” she said sarcastically. “Sure, that’s how my friends talk to me too when they come over. They’re always telling me how glamorous everything is when they’re hanging out with me.”

“‘No, I just want to incorporate these tricks into your everyday life’ — as she prances around in a beekeeper’s outfit,” Kelly continued before getting into why the Emmy nomination bothers her so much.
“Clearly she’s got enough juice left in the can to get an Emmy nomination out of this, which is meaningless, but right on brand for her,” Kelly said.
The nomination comes just months after Netflix canceled the show, which ran for two seasons.
With Love, Meghan gave viewers a look at Markle’s love of cooking and gardening. The series also featured some of her famous friends like Mindy Kaling, Chrissy Teigen and Tan France.
‘Somewhat baffling’
Kelly wasn’t the only one questioning the nomination. British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital she was surprised due to the show’s “lackluster” reception among viewers.
“Well, [it’s] not so surprising when one considers these award bodies reward high profile players who might garner the awards attention. Nevertheless, given how polarizing [Meghan Markle] is and that the show had completely lackluster ongoing watching views, it is somewhat baffling,” Fordwich said.
“The really weak commercial traction of her show, with dreadfully low on-going watching demonstrated by lack of audience appeal, doesn’t warrant such an award, but no doubt it will garner the aforementioned media attention,” she continued.
Fordwich doesn’t think the nomination will lead to much aside from good press for Markle. “This would only be a public-relations win, which is a far cry from a concrete future media contract,” she said.
