Marjorie Taylor Green ‘blown away’ by President Donald Trump after previously ‘attacking’ the Bidens for ‘corruption’

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once one of President Donald Trump‘s fiercest defenders in Congress, said on The View she was “blown away” by the wealth the Trump family has accumulated since his return to the White House in January 2025 — the same type of financial activity she once condemned as “corruption” when it involved Hunter Biden.

Appearing on the ABC talk show, Greene was asked by co-host Joy Behar about Trump continuing to profit while in office.

“Oh, he’s making money, all right,” Greene replied. “I was one of the loudest voices attacking Hunter Biden for what I perceived to be corruption while his father was president, but I was really blown away. Most people are blown away. Even Fox News had something to say about it. That’s pretty shocking. This is why Americans are really sick and tired of both parties. We’ve just seen it over and over and over again.”

Behar noted that Hunter Biden never held public office and asked, “Why do you keep saying both parties?” Greene defended her position before ultimately agreeing that Trump has made significantly more money than the Biden family ever did.

The interview grew increasingly tense. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin questioned Greene about a social media post suggesting AIPAC’s involvement in allegations against Senate candidate Graham Platner, while co-host Sunny Hostin challenged her over a deleted post concerning an accuser. Behar eventually ended that line of questioning.

Asked what she would say if Trump called her, Greene responded, “I have no interest in talking to President Trump,” adding that she is moving forward with a new podcast.

From MAGA loyalist to Trump critic

Greene spent years as one of Trump’s closest allies in Congress, championing his agenda and defending him during investigations into Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

Their relationship unraveled in late 2025 after Greene pushed for the release of files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and criticized parts of Trump’s foreign policy. Trump publicly labeled her a “traitor,” and Greene resigned from Congress in January 2026 during her third term.

She later told The View that Trump had been angry because she refused to remove her name from a discharge petition tied to the Epstein files. Since leaving Congress, she has made several appearances on the program, discussing topics including Trump’s Great American State Fair and his comments about Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce.

What Trump’s disclosure actually shows

Greene’s comments followed the release of Trump’s annual financial disclosure by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, a 927-page filing detailing income earned in 2025.

The disclosure showed cryptocurrency as Trump’s largest source of personal income. It reported more than $1 billion in crypto-related earnings, while estimates from Reuters and The New York Times placed the total closer to $1.4 billion.

According to the filing, Trump earned approximately $515 million to $527 million from token sales tied to World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency company he co-founded with Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump in 2024. He also reported tens of millions of dollars from selling equity in the company’s holding entity.

Separately, Trump disclosed about $635 million in royalties from sales of the $TRUMP meme coin through a licensing agreement with Celebration Coins.

Responding to criticism of his earnings, Trump told reporters, “You know why I’m profiting, because the stock market’s going up, everybody’s profiting,” and added that he does not personally manage his investments, saying others “invest my money” without his involvement.
