Kanye West’s mental breakdown was caused by marijuana… this according to his tour insurer.
In case you didn’t know, the rapper is suing the insurance company Lloyd’s of London, claiming it refused to pay him after he was forced to cancel his shows in November of last year.
He’s asking for 10 million in damages because he thinks he’s owed for the cancelled shows.
But the insurance company is saying nope. They suggest his marijuana usage led him to have a mental breakdown… and that would mean they don’t owe him a penny.
West was hospitalized as a result of the breakdown, and immediately after going into treatment, his doctors provided the insurance company with sworn testimony that he was unfit to take the stage.
Kanye even provided documents from a doctor hired by the insurance company that also deemed he was unfit to perform.
Knowing how legal battles go… we’re gonna bet this one plays out in the courts for a while.
