The trailer for Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve‘s new movie has been released!
The two Oscar-nominated stars lead Fjord, playing parents under investigation on allegations that they abuse their five children.
SYNOPSIS: The Gheorghius, a devout Romanian Norwegian couple, resettle in a village set in a distant fjord where they become close to their neighbours, the Halbergs. Their children bond despite their different education. When adolescent Elia Gheorghiu shows up at school with some bruises on her body, the community asks itself if the traditional education that the Gheorghiu children get from their parents might have anything to do with it.
The movie’s cast also includes teenage actors Vanessa Cuban and Jonathan Ciprian Breeze as the couple’s oldest children, as well as Norwegian actors Lisa Carlehed, Henrikke Lund-Olsen, Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Lisa Loven Kongsli and Markus Tønseth.
Written, co-produced, and directed by Cristian Mungiu, Fjord marks Sebastian and Renate‘s second movie together after 2024’s A Different Man.
Fjord had it’s world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and became the movie studio Neon’s seventh consecutive win for the prestigious Palme d’Or.
The movie hits theaters on October 9.
