Dermot Mulroney Exiting ‘Chicago Fire’ in Season 15

Dermot Mulroney‘s time on Chicago Fire is coming to an end.

On Friday (July 31), Variety confirmed that the 62-year-old actor will be exiting the the NBC drama series early in the upcoming 15th season.

Dermot, who first joined Chicago Fire in season 13 as Chief Dom Pascal, will wrap up his storyline early in the new season, which premieres in October.

If you forgot, Dermot took a brief hiatus in season 14, but he returned for the season finale, which ended on a major cliffhanger that left many characters’ fates up in the air.

In the finale, Chief Pascal was discussing the future with Severide (Taylor Kinney) when an emergency call came in and the squad rushed to burning warehouse. As several firefighters rushed inside the building, the roof begins to collapse. Pascal stayed outside of the fire and it’s unclear if all of the characters will make it out alive.

News of Dermot Mulroney‘s exit from Chicago Fire comes just days after it was announced that one of the original stars of the show was also leaving.

Season 15 of Chicago Fire premieres on Wednesday, October 7 at 9pm ET on NBC.
