Adam Sandler gave Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 2-word marriage advice

Adam Sandler, who officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, had one simple piece of advice for the newlyweds: “Keep kissing.”

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed the exchange while appearing as the guest narrator at a special Music & the Spoken Word broadcast in Salt Lake City, honoring America’s 250th anniversary of independence.

“So, in its simplest form, that’s a good thing,” he continued, “It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. Make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to do it. Knock it out and you won’t have problems.”

In a separate interview with Billboard, Reid offered a fuller version of the same moment.

“Kiss every chance you have, every day,” he recalled the Uncut Gems actor telling the couple. “Whether you’re going to bed or going to work or, you know, wherever, go ahead and kiss her.”

Reid noted that the exchange was “really touching” despite the actor’s reputation for comedy.

The coach also praised Sandler’s performance running the ceremony, a role the actor took on without any formal training. “In a simple, hysterical way, he was phenomenal,” Reid said. “He’s crazy, but he did a great job in getting them married with a lot of humor.”

Reid has coached Kelce since the Chiefs drafted him in 2013 and said he has watched the relationship grow over several years.

“I’ve had a chance to see them grow together and that’s the most important thing, that there’s a love there, a sincere love,” he said.

Reid added that Swift and Kelce come from “different worlds” but have “come together to join hands” through love.

Reid’s wife, Tammy, offered her own take on marriage during the same appearance. “I would say communicate, which is big,” she said. “We kind of live two different lives. He’s at football and I’m doing the kids and stuff.” Reid also confirmed that he tries to live by Sandler’s advice himself.

Swift and Kelce reportedly wrote their own vows and exchanged them in front of roughly 1,000 guests inside Madison Square Garden. According to attendees, Swift sang part of her vows during the ceremony.

Sandler’s role as officiant reportedly stemmed from his longstanding friendship with the couple. Kelce made his film debut with a cameo in Sandler’s 2025 movie Happy Gilmore 2 and Sandler and his daughters have long been fans of Swift.

Sandler has been married to actress Jackie Sandler since 2003. The couple, who met while filming Big Daddy, share two daughters, Sadie and Sunny and have frequently worked together on several of Sandler’s films. Over the years, the actor has often credited Jackie as a constant source of support throughout his career.

Other guests included Bradley Cooper, Steven Spielberg, Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Tom Brady, Hugh Grant, Tom Hanks and Gigi Hadid.
