A man has been charged after police allegedly seized more than five kilograms of cannabis during a traffic stop in the Riverina.
About 3:20 pm on Sunday (24 May), officers from Riverina Highway Patrol stopped a 4WD travelling on the Hume Highway at Tumblong, about 15 kilometres south-east of Gundagai, for random testing.
Police allege the 38-year-old driver returned a positive roadside drug test. A secondary test allegedly produced a positive reading for cannabis, with the sample sent for further testing.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly found 5.08 kilograms of cannabis, with an estimated street value of $27,500, in the rear footwell.
They also allegedly seized a knife and a small additional amount of cannabis.
