A Malaysian man was arrested at Macau International Airport on Saturday after allegedly being recruited by a drug trafficking syndicate to smuggle 3.4 kilograms of marijuana into the city, with an estimated street value of approximately MOP3.41 million, in exchange for a promised reward of 7,000 Malaysian ringgit – about MOP14,000. The suspect, who had arrived in Macau from Southeast Asia, was found in possession of six packages of marijuana concealed inside his suitcase and was reportedly preparing to transport the drugs to a neighboring region when he was intercepted by the Judiciary Police (PJ).
