Rosie O’Donnell is speaking out after Donald Trump included her in a recent AI-generated video.
Last week, Trump, 80, shared a late-night post on his Truth Social account where he took aim at some of his biggest celebrity critics, saying that they suffer from the imaginary “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Rosie, 64, is included in the fake video alongside fellow outspoken Trump critics Whoopi Goldberg, Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, John Leguizamo, and Edward Norton.
“I have been suffering for over a decade and after listening to Dr. Trump, I can see some results,” the fake Rosie says in the video.
In a new interview with Variety published on Wednesday (July 8), Rosie reacted to the AI video.
“He was allowed to go on a show [The Apprentice] that was a reality show, and it was sold as fact when it was in fact fiction, because he was broke — one of the many times that he was broke — and this is a man who has been a failure at everything he’s ever tried, and he is mediocre beyond mediocre, and the fact that he is running our nation is an abomination,” Rosie said.
“It’s the worst thing that ever happened to our country,” she continued, “and I think it needs to be rectified sooner rather than later if we are to remain a democratic republic.”
If you didn’t know, Rosie‘s decades-long feud with Trump has made her one of his most famous celebrity critics. They’ve traded barbs for years, dating back to her time on The View. Their feud followed into politics, with Trump bringing her up often during interviews and in social media posts.
Last year, Rosie spoke out after Trump threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship following her move to Ireland after he won the 2024 Presidential Election.
