Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC News’ Meet the Press after an exchange with journalist Kristen Welker.
They were speaking about elections, and Welker noted, “Republicans are doing well in California” to which Trump responded, “they’re dropping fast because it’s a rigged election.”
After speaking about the voting process in California, Welker said, “that’s how they count the votes in California.”
Trump then responded with a wild claim: “Do you know why they’re doing that? Because they’re cheating on the election.”
She asked for proof of this, and he said, “all I have to do is look” and “I listen to people.”
He then ranted further about his distrust of mostly every news network, and said, “You’re a one-sided crooked network. Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time.”
She then asked him to stay, and he said, “I sat in the rain with you for an hour….On and off in the rain, and I’ve given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press. A country can never be great with a dishonest press.”

States that vote largely in-person often report results more quickly because that process can happen at the polls with the voter present.”

Democratic voters have been more likely to embrace mail-in voting, particularly in the post-Covid era, so as those ballots are counted, Democratic candidates’ numbers tend to improve.”
