The 46-year-old Outlander star is joining the cast of Disney’s live-action adaptation of the beloved 2010 film, directed by Michael Gracey with a script from Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor.

The film stars Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel and Diego Luna as a new character, Hawthorne.
It’s set to hit theaters on March 31, 2028.
Disney’s original animated Tangled was released in 2010 and featured Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as the voices of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively.
The studio also debuted footage from the highly anticipated movie during its Entertainment Showcase at D23 on Friday night (August 14) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
The preview gave attendees their first look at Teagan as Rapunzel, complete with the character’s signature long blonde hair and purple dress.
Kathryn appeared at the event to present the movie and discuss taking on the iconic Disney villain.
“I love Mother Gothel, I love playing her, she’s the best kind of villain,” she told the audience, adding that the character believes she is actually the hero of the story, per Entertainment Weekly.
