Drew Starkey & Anya Taylor-Joy’s Stunt Double Were Pulled Over While Filming ‘Lucky’

Apple TV

Drew Starkey and Anya Taylor-Joy‘s stunt double Hailey Wright were stopped by police while filming a driving sequence for new Apple TV show Lucky.

Chatting with People about the series, Drew, 32, explained they were filming a scene that involved Hailey bursting out of a garage door and driving onto a “beautiful, long beach.”

“She’s tearing up the sand and we get down to our end mark, and we see lights behind us and I look at the ground,” he said. “I was like, ‘Oh, I didn’t realize that they were going to throw cops in this section of the scene.’”

The Outer Banks star said Hailey realized quicker than he did that the cops were really there to pull them over, and they did.

When one of the police officers approached their car to inform them cars weren’t allowed, Hailey had to tell them they were “filming a movie” and apologize.

Unfortunately for the duo, the cameras were nowhere nearby as the scene was being shot with a “long lens,” meaning they were farther away than is normal. But Drew said, luckily, the production assistants quickly realized what was happening and ran toward the scene to handle everything.

In case you didn’t see, Drew has also been talking about the upcoming fifth and final season of Outer Banks, including a scene that made him cry for two hours.
