The NBC series The Hunting Party was canceled last month, but there was hope that producers would find a new network or streamer to order a third season.
Deadline reported on June 2 that the network decided to wait as “executives took extra time to evaluate the show’s performance on both linear and streaming.” Unfortunately, the decision ended up being to cancel the show.
Sadly, the plan to get a renewal elsewhere has failed and the show is officially done forever.
Deadline reported on July 2 that “efforts to extend the show’s life are officially over” as the cast has been released from their contracts. It was believed that there was a good chance to get a streamer to buy the series as it had performed well on both Peacock and Netflix, but neither service decided to save the show.
Melissa Roxburgh led the cast of the drama, which also starred Nick Wechsler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie and Sara Garcia.
